Daniel Raymond

Daniel Raymond is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Oshawa, Ontario. In 2020, Raymond released his first solo project, ‘Soft’ – followed by his second release, ‘Suspension’, in the summer of 2022. The song ‘115’ from ‘Soft’ was also nominated for ‘Durham Song of the Year’ in the 2021 Oshawa Music Awards. Raymond was then nominated as a finalist for ‘Songwriter of the Year’ and his album ‘Suspension’ was nominated as a finalist for ‘Album of the Year’ in the 2023 Oshawa Music Awards. The song ‘Waiting’ from ‘Suspension’ has been performing well on Spotify with over 50,000 streams since its release in March of 2022. His new 4-song EP, ‘What We Are Trying to Become’ – which was recorded and produced by Jim Bryson was released in March of 2024 and has received positive reviews.

Raymond was also a lead singer and songwriter for the Durham Region band, Mitchell’s Corner. The band played in the Toronto music scene and across Southern Ontario in the1990s and toured Canada supporting their two recordings, before disbanding in 1995. Daniel Raymond now regularly plays live as a solo performer and as part of the folk duo ‘Folsky and Raymond’ in venues around the Greater Toronto Area.
