Jack Pine and The Fire

Jack Pine and The Fire is driving, masterful, dynamic, and all-acoustic: gritty alt-folk-Canadiana with heavy right hands, haunting harmonies, and all the feels. Nominated for a 2019 JUNO Award and a 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award, their newest album Left To Our Own Devices is “an album you’d run in o a burning barn to save” and explores all our relationships–with ourselves, with each other, and with the earth. Jack Pine howls out melodies and tall tales like a lone wolf, strumming his mandolin furiously at first, then softly while The Fire beats their string-band image into the ground behind him. Jack sings songs of lost souls and forgotten truths, with lyrical wordplay that blends vivid and powerful imagery with dark humour and sometimes-subtle social commentary.
