With stories and songs that kindle late-night Canadian campfires, John Muirhead’s award-winning song collection reflects the highs and lows of love, ambition, and living on the road. While he is based in London, Ontario, John is a troubadour by nature and has played living rooms, theatres, moving trains, and folk festivals from coast to coast in Canada and the Northeastern United States.
Lyrically and musically, John wears his heart on his sleeve, channeling Leonard Cohen, Frank Turner, The Weakerthans, and Julien Baker. In the three years since the release of his debut EP Yesterday’s Smile, John has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, toured relentlessly across Canada, and has graced the stages of legendary festivals including The Winnipeg Folk Festival, Home County Music and Arts Festival, Sawdust City Music Festival, and many more. His touring efforts have landed him coveted opening slots for Joel Plaskett, Craig Cardiff, and VACAY. John has also released two follow-up EPs, Foundational (2018) and Head Stays Down (2019).
