Springtide and The Second Wedge Brewing Co. are excited to present our first fall event in the Springtide Presents concert series.
On Friday November 8th, join us for Cuff The Duke LIVE at The Second Wedge, along with local supporting act, Black Spruce.
With a foundation in Canadian roots rock and a penchant for crafting noisy guitar jams, Cuff the Duke’s unique blend of genres has consistently escaped the confines of simple classification, earning them an honoured place under the umbrella of “alternative.”
Six albums, a pair of JUNO nods, countless miles clocked on the road, including sharing stages with iconic acts like BlueRodeo, Hayden Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and Calexico. Then, poof! A ten-year vanishing act, playing only a handful of shows in that time. But like all great tales, ours has a twist: Cuff the Duke has reemerged from the shadows.
Poised to once again cross musical borders as effortlessly as a game of hopscotch, their comeback is more than a mere addition to their discography—it’s a homecoming celebration of their enduring legacy and the love of getting together with old friends and playing music.
We are also pleased to invite local act Black Spruce to open the evening. Inspired by the rugged beauty of the northern wilderness, Black Spruce blends indie-folk, roots, and ambient textures to create a soundscape that feels both organic and ethereal.
In March of 2024, the Springtide Presents series launched with a sold out show featuring folk group, The Pairs. We can’t wait to be back with another stellar night of music.
