Born Ruffians Return to Headline Springtide’s Fall Concert

Born Ruffians to headline Springtide Music Festival’s Fall Concert at Uxbridge Music Hall — Saturday, October 24

Springtide Music Festival is bringing the party back to Uxbridge this fall. Midland, Ontario’s own Born Ruffians — one of Canadian indie rock’s most beloved live acts — will headline our Fall Concert at the historic Uxbridge Music Hall on Saturday, October 24.

Born Ruffians headlined Springtide back in 2019, and it didn’t take long for them to make fast fans out of our audience — their raw, catchy songwriting and famously high-energy live show had the room hooked from the first song. Now, we’re thrilled to welcome them back to close out the season on our stage.

Since breaking out of Toronto’s celebrated aughts indie scene alongside Broken Social Scene, Tokyo Police Club, and Metric, Born Ruffians — Luke Lalonde, Mitch Derosier, and Steve Hamelin — have become one of Canada’s biggest indie rock exports, releasing eight albums and three EPs on storied labels like Warp Records, XL Recordings, Yep Roc, Paper Bag Records, and their own newly-launched Wavy Haze Records. They’ve toured the world supporting Caribou, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, and The New Pornographers, and headlined their own runs across North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia.

2018’s Uncle, Duke & The Chief, produced by the late Richard Swift, marked a turning point for the band — praised by NPR Music, Rolling Stone, and American Songwriter as a confident, mature evolution of their hooky, left-of-center pop sensibilities. Their COVID-era trilogy JUICE, SQUEEZE, and PULP followed, charting on Billboard and the US Alternative Radio Charts. In 2025, the band returned with new member Maddy Wilde and Beauty’s Pride — a maximalist, hi-fi indie rock record that proves Born Ruffians are that rare veteran act who can still make you feel like you’ve just discovered your new favourite band. Onstage, that same restless, hooky energy translates into one of the most electric live sets in Canadian indie rock — exactly the kind of show that turned our 2019 crowd into fans for life.

The show takes place at Uxbridge Music Hall, a historic building in the heart of downtown Uxbridge known for its superior acoustics and status as a thriving cultural hub for the region.
